Is It Time To Rethink Your Priorities?


Is it time we should rethink our priorities?

Have you found yourself making multiple to-do lists, trying to prioritize what you need to get done? Then, when you look at that list at the end of the day, you realize many of the things that needed to get done did not. I think a lot of that happens because we don’t really like doing some of the things on our list.

Perhaps it’s time to rethink your priorities and rethink your “to do” list. While most of us focus on what we need to do, we should be thinking about what we want.

Let me clarify that.

You should not focus on what you want TO DO, but what you WANT.

For instance, I will put down on my list to exercise for 1 hour a day. This is something my body needs to stay healthy and fit, however, it’s not necessarily something I want to do on a hot, humid summer day. However, I do WANT a fit and healthy body. If I focus on the fact that I want a fit and healthy body and not on the fact I should exercise, I am more inclined to go ahead and do it.

Does that make sense?

Another example I can give is working on my business. I need to make care calls to customers, team members and prospects; however, sometimes I push those things back and they don’t get done because other more fun activities pop up. I don’t really want to do it. What I should focus on is the fact that I want others to get healthy, lead a chemical-free life and realize all of their dreams, then the want becomes more important than the need.

You need to have a clear result in you mind and focus on that feeling and image and not on the fact that you have to do something you would rather not do.

Stay focused on the results you are committed to and you will find that your list will be filled with priorities you can work on with enthusiasm and power.
