I’m a runner!

It’s official, I’m a runner now! I roll out of bed in the mornings (every morning except Sunday) and put on my running gear. I made myself a playlist specifically for my run so I’m not checking the timer on my iPhone anymore to see how long I’ve run. I know when I get to the end of Michael Jackson’s ‘Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough,’ it’s time to start my cool down walk back. Even though my run is actually ending up around 35 minutes of actual running, when this song comes on for my final leg, I almost dance-run!

I’ve also lost another 1.5 pounds since my last Weight Watchers weigh-in and that is with a huge splurge at Outback Steakhouse in the middle of last week. We were celebrating some good news my husband received and when I say splurge, I mean I practically ate my entire weekly bonus points at one meal. We are talking appetizers, steak, salad, bread with butter and a stop at Cold Stone Creamery for dessert (since I’m a savory person, not a sweet person, I’m happy with a child sized cup of cake batter ice cream).

If I have another 1.5 pound loss this week, it will be 10 pounds! Do you know how much 10 pounds is? Go pick up a 10 pound weight and think about it. That is weight I was carrying around with me and it’s now gone (or it will be by next Sunday!).

I don’t think I’ll be doing a sprint triathlon until next spring, but I am thinking about doing the Disney Princess Half Marathon in February.

I’m a runner now and it’s all thanks to the Couch to 5K program. I highly recommend it!
