Have I mentioned how much I love running in the rain?

I knew it was cloudy when I got dressed for my run this morning, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that there were raindrops falling as I left for my run this morning.

I usually start my warm-up walk with Elton John’s “Don’t Let The Sun Go Down on Me” and then start running when Aerosmith’s “Dream On” comes on. I’ve set a playlist so my running time hits around 33 minutes, then I have P. Diddy’s “Coming Home.” This morning, though, the rain invigorated me and I pretty much started running right away.

There’s something about the rain and water that is cleansing and renewing for me. It energizes me. Plus, there’s the added bonus of not having the oppressive heat.

As I ran across the bridge by the lake, even the ducks, herons, frogs and bunnies seemed to get a lift from the light sprinkle that continued to fall.

I am now ready to face the day with a renewed spirit and great start to my day!
