Become a Possibilitarian!

“Become a possibilitarian. No matter how dark things seem to be or actually are, raise your sights and see possibilities — always see them, for they’re always there.” ― Norman Vincent Peale

I am in the middle of reading Norman Vincent Peale’s, “The Power of Positive Thinking” for what must be my 30th time. I love this book and have been reading and re-reading it for years. As a matter-of-fact, I love this book so much that I keep an extra copy on hand to give away to people who I think might need one.

Many people confuse positive thinking with just sitting around meditating on happy thoughts. That’s not what the science of positive thinking is about. That’s right! You read that correctly —> the SCIENCE of positive thinking!

Almost everyone has read or seen “The Secret” where they describe the power of your thoughts on your life. This is not some mystical out-of-this-world experience. It’s real, it’s proven and you can be a part of it!

Whenever you read or see someone talking about the power of positive thinking, or happiness or success or health or wealth, they always stress the outcome lies within you. You, not your circumstances, have the power to think positively or negatively. You can choose happiness over depression. You can choose to be successful or to not. You can choose to make healthy choices for yourself or not. You can choose to be wealthy, or not.

Now many of you may be saying, “I didn’t choose to be in the place in my life! I didn’t choose all of this debt! I didn’t choose to be fat and out-of-shape! I didn’t choose to be unhappy and miserable in my marriage!”

The fact is, yes you did.

Owning up to that is the first step in getting the life you desire. When you wake up in the morning, you can choose to be happy, or allow the day’s events and people make you unhappy. You have that power. You have that control.

You have the choice every single day to either make healthy choices for food, or unhealthy choices. You have a choice whether to exercise, or not exercise. Either way, you are making a choice as to the kind of body you want to live in.

Do you want to thrive and be happy, or do you want to spend your life blaming other people and the world around you for your circumstances?

Become a Possibilitarian and see all of the good things this life has to offer.

Choose to be happy. Choose to see the possibilities. Choose a good life.
