Back to Week 3 of Couch to 5K again!

I’m finally getting settled in the new place, but still have tons of boxes to go through and tons more to take to storage. However, I was able to get back to running this morning with my husband.

Since he was swimming off and on during our time apart and neither of us got any workouts in over the last week, I decided it would be better to go back and redo Week 3. This was a good move. While I was having zero problems and felt as though I could have done two 8 minute runs, my hubby was feeling the effects of not running for almost 3 weeks.

And there seems to be a lot more hills to run up in our new home, but I will say it’s a lot more scenic as there is this huge lake nearby with ducks, cranes, sandpipers, turtles and even a few water snakes sunning themselves on rocks.

When I asked hubby how he was doing in the middle of the run, he said, “I would rather be swimming.”

I think running pushes him in ways that swimming does not and I told him the running would help build bone density. I don’t think swimming does that either.

So, we are still doing the Couch to 5K program, even though it’s been a two steps forward, one step back progression.

One day, we’ll run a marathon!
