10 Questions to Ask Any Leader

leadership

Do you want to know the 10 questions you should ask other leaders?

I’m about to tell you!

One thing I have noticed is that it doesn’t matter what business you’re in, it pays to ask questions. And they people you want to ask are not the people on the same level as you, nor are they the people who are beginners and don’t know as much as you.

No. The people you want to ask and get information from are the people who are the leaders in your company, industry and business. The people who are where you eventually want to be.

Figure out who you want to talk to and ask them out to lunch, for coffee, or if you don’t know the very well, you could even send them an email, complimenting them on their success and leadership and asking if you could “pick their brain?”

Most people will say yes and I believe in the motto, “Ask! The worst thing they can do is say no.”

You have nothing to lose and everything to gain as far as knowledge and help.

So, what are these 10 Questions you should ask?

10 Questions You Should Ask Any Leader

1. Who has had the most impact on your life and why?

2. How do you encourage creating thinking and growth from your team and organization?

3. Where do the great ideas in your organization come from?

4. What is more important: Goals, Vision or a Mission Statement?

5. How do you help a new recruit understand the core values of your company, team and organization?

6. What is the one characteristic you believe every leader should possess?

7. What is the one behavior that you felt helped you be a good leader?

8. What is the one behavior you believe hurt other prospective leaders?

9. What advice would you give to someone who wants to eventually be where you are?

10. What do you do to continually improve your leadership skills?

Ask yourself these questions and answer them truthfully. They can be pretty eye-opening and make you rethink your priorities, values and commitment to your goals and vision for your future.

Question: If you could ask the top person in your company any question, what would it be?
