Why What You Eat Matters

Think what you eat doesn’t matter? A calorie is just a calorie right? Wrong!

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, then you know about my journey to a live a happier, healthier and more abundant life for myself. I want an abundant life and I want that for you too!

Part of my journey has led me to pursuing a Doctor of Naturopathy degree. It will take me 2 years to finish my courses and get my certification, but I am happy to say that I have received 100’s on all of my exams so far!

One of the most recent courses I took was on food.

The quality of food you eat really does matter and here’s an example for you to think about. Let’s say you were baking a cake and you look at the ingredients and decide to make substitutions:

Ingredients

Cake Flour
Baking Powder
Salt
Sugar
Eggs
Milk
Butter

But instead of putting in those ingredients, you put in:

Corn Meal
Gun Powder
Pepper
Paprika
Cheese
Soda
Lard

Are you going to get the same results? No!

Likewise, if you switch out real organic food for a bunch of processed junk, your body is not going to react the same way.

Think of your body as a machine that needs to be taken care of, because in reality, it is. It is the most complex and beautiful machine you will ever encounter and it’s the only one you’ve got.

Just like you would no more think about pouring a liter of soda into your gas tank, you shouldn’t be pouring it into your machine either.

Think about the choices you are making to fuel your body. Are those choices helping you, or hurting you?

Food is not just something you can chew and swallow. Food is nourishment.

Eat intentionally. Live intentionally.
