Are You Making Progress?

“Your progress in life begins in your own mind and ends in the same place.” – Napoleon Hill

Think about that quote for a moment, because it is so true! Every great accomplishment or event that has happened, began with an idea in the mind of someone. They had the idea, they thought about it, shaped it for usefulness and finally, transformed that idea into reality.

Do you have an idea that has been germinating in your mind? Your mind is a fertile ground for fostering new ideas. One of the best things you can do for yourself is invest in studying and learning from those who have already forged the path you want to travel. Learn everything you can and then take action.

I cannot stress enough the importance of not only dreaming, but setting goals for yourself and taking action on those goals. You must have the discipline to take action and carry out those plans. The most brilliant idea in the world will remain nothing more than a dream unless you take action. For that matter, even a mediocre idea whose mind contemplated it and put it into practice is more valuable than a spark of genius that languishes in an undisciplined mind.

Don’t be one of those people who sit around and dream of what could be. Be someone who dreams, writes the dream down, figures out a path to take you there and then go. Don’t just sit there continuing to sleepwalk through your life.

You must take action or your dreams will remain exactly that. Dreams.

Today, decide what steps must be taken to make your dream a reality. Write them down. Then don’t wait. Start taking action on them immediately.

Every day, even if it’s just one thing, do that one thing that will take you from dreamer, to doer. Do something, anything, to propel you toward your ultimate goal.

As Brian Tracy likes to ask, “What one thing, if you did it today, could move you toward your goal?”
