Are You Living Your Life Purpose?

are you living your life purpose

Are you living your life purpose?

Do you even know what that purpose is?

Most of us go through life on auto-pilot, just trying to get from day to day, week to week, month to month and year to year.

We got to school, get a job, get married, have kids, raise a family, retire and then wait.

My question is this: What are you waiting for?

I have three children and if I have tried to impress anything on them it is this … Do not WAIT to live your life. If you want to be an artist, BE an artist. If you want to be a video game designer, BE a video game designer. If you want to be a professional baseball player, BE a professional baseball player.

Don’t ever let anyone tell you what you can and cannot do. Don’t ever let anyone tell you you should or should not do something. If you are living your dream and not hurting anyone else, then tell those people to take a hike.

Now, I’m not saying abandon your responsibilities. I have always said, once you get married, you have to think of the other person and your marriage. Life stops being all about you when you take those vows. It is a shared experience and you both need to find a common ground.

If it’s that way once you marry, it’s tenfold once you have kids. Your kids didn’t ask to be here, you made them. You need to take care of them.

That said, it does not mean you have to give up your dreams or your personal identity or leave behind something you are passionate about.

I once heard or read an article about finding your passion where it asks you what do you think about all the time? What would you do, even if no one paid you to do it? What is your passion?

I believe that if there is something you can’t stop thinking about, dreaming about, wanting to do with all of your heart, then God must have put that in your heart for a reason.

Pray about it. Ask God to guide you and help you. Then trust that He will. Remember, where God guides, He provides.

I will tell you something about passion:

My father was a baseball player many, many years ago. He loved the sport. He loved all sports, but baseball was his passion. He would tell me that sometimes it would be 100 degrees outside and he would run, literally run, from house to house and try and get up enough boys to go to the park and play baseball with him. He said sometimes it would take him 2 hours of running through the neighborhood until he could get enough boys together to play in the stifling heat.

That’s passion!

My father went on to play baseball professionally. Why? Because he wanted it so bad he couldn’t think of anything else.

Don’t let life derail you from pursuing your passion. Yes, that passion may have to be done at night after the kids go to bed. It may mean getting up 2 hours early before you have to go to work. It may mean working on it on the weekends.

So what? The woman who wrote “50 Shades of Grey” did it on the train during her commute to and from work. She’s now a multi-millionaire because of it.

If you have a dream and you are passionate about it, you will find the time. Heck, you will MAKE the time.

We all have the same 24 hours in a day. Why is it that so many entrepreneurs, millionaires and billionaires seem to be able to get so much done in the same 24 hours you and I have? Because they MAKE time for the things that is important to them.

You can make the time too. The question is …

How bad do you want it?
