Is Network Marketing for You?

When most people hear the phrase, “Network Marketing” their first thought is generally, “Multi-Level Marketing” or “Direct Marketing.” Many people have tried Network Marketing or at least have heard of it.

In this depressed economic environment, with so many people being downsized from a full-time job into a part-time job, many are looking for a way to make some extra money, or replace their full-time income entirely.

Network Marketing may be your answer to financial success. Everyone from Dave Ramsey to Donald Trump to Warren Buffett have endorsed Network Marketing as a great entrepreneurial endeavor.

Network marketing is one of the few business models I have seen where people are actively working together to make each other succeed. Unlike a franchise, Network Marketing usually has a very low start-up cost and is available to anyone who has a desire to be successful.

If you have a desire to work for yourself and earn a good living for yourself and your family, you owe it to yourself to find out more about this incredible opportunity. I, myself, have recently signed up as a distributor for a wonderful company. I will talk more about that in the coming weeks.

In the meantime, Entrepreneur listed 7 Tips for Network Marketing Success:

1. Choose wisely

In other words, you should find a company that speaks to you. A company you feel inspired by and good about. Do your research and find out how long they’ve been in business and if they have a good reputation.

2. Practice what they teach.

You need to be open to what they are teaching and be prepared to follow their advice. This is the part where you’ll probably need to stretch yourself. I have been a stay-at-home mom for a long time and wanted my own business. Like most people, I am nervous about speaking in public. I started attending Toastmasters a few weeks ago in an effort to overcome my fear.

3. The “higher-ups” (your upline)

Are they supportive? Are they willing to help you succeed?

4. Take up the lead with your downline

In order to be successful in this business, you have to be willing to become a leader. You will need to help your new distributors as they start their businesses.

5. Use the Internet

Use a website, Twitter, Facebook and Google+ to connect with new people, stay connected to your upline and your downline.

6. Take care of business

Network Marketing is a business and not just a hobby. Treat it as one.

7. Don’t quit your day job – yet!

Do not quit your day job until you have replaced that income with your network marketing income!

Entrepreneur goes into a more in-depth explanation of each tip on their site, so I recommend you read their article. I found it very helpful!
