Dare To Dream
This morning’s Daily Vitamin for the Soul was just a simple message. Dare to dream.
How many of us put limits on our dreams and ambitions? How many of us say, “That’s unrealistic. I’ll never have anything like that,” or “They’re just lucky, not everyone can do what they did.”
We need to stop putting limitations on our dreams. Stop setting up barriers for ourselves. I believe God wants all great things for us.
I’m not just talking financially. I’m talking about in all areas of our lives. He wants us to have a wonderful life filled with blessings.
That means we should be doing everything in our power to be all that we can be. We should strive to be as healthy as we can. We should strive to realize the dreams He has put in our hearts, minds and souls. They are there for a reason. We should not settle for mediocre relationships.
Jesus even stated in John 10:10, “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”
I know a lot of people dislike those who preach “prosperity gospel.” I am no stranger to the downside of that kind of preaching.
Last year my son came home from school and was disturbed because one of his classmates was constantly talking about and drawing Satan. My son told him he shouldn’t be doing that and the child’s response was, “I’m a Christian and I know I’m a good Christian because my family’s rich and God rewards good Christians with a lot of money.”
To say I was shocked is an understatement. In fact, my jaw may still be somewhere on the floor.
When I think of God wanting us to live a life of abundance and He is here so that we can live life in abundance, I take it to mean that we should not let fear overshadow our lives. We should embrace life and live it to the fullest. We should dare to dream and dare to pursue those dreams. We should strive to live a full life of adventure.
I was telling a friend from high school last week that an aha moment came to me when I read another life coach ask the same question as others, “When you envision your perfect day, what does it look like?”
For me, the answer is always the same. I’m living at the beach, on the water and I’m a best-selling author who writes stories people love to read.
I’m pursuing my passion every day. I’m learning and writing. I’ve made a vision board that stays by my bedside. I’m going for my dreams.
I hope you do the same.
