Create The Life You Dream Of

For Mother’s Day one year, my youngest son gave me a coffee mug that said, “Life isn’t about finding yourself, it’s about creating yourself.”

I love drinking my morning coffee from that mug, because it reminds me that instead of constantly searching, I can become whatever it is I envision for myself. God gave us all free will to make our own decisions and set our own course.

What is the life you want to create for yourself? You can do and become whatever it is you “see” in your mind.

I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase, “There’s no such thing as a free lunch.” All that means is if you want something, you cannot expect for it just to drop in your lap. You’ll have to work for it.

Someone doesn’t just decide they’re going to be a surgeon and start cutting people open. They must plan for medical school. They have years of study. They learn and grown and get experience.

Likewise, whatever it is you want to do will require you to plan, study and work to create the life you want.

I am a big fan of Tony Robbins’ philosophy of finding someone who is already doing what you want to do. Success leaves clues and it stands to reason if you want the same results someone else has, if you do exactly the same things they did, you will receive the same results.

My cousin is a personal trainer and said most of her clients complain that even though they are doing what she tells them to physically, they are not losing any weight. She said it’s because they are not willing to change their diet. The fact is, if they ate exactly the same things she does and exercise in exactly the same way, they would achieve the body they desire.

The problem is, they don’t want the body enough to give up the foods inhibiting their progress.

Someone once said the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

The life you want for yourself is in your hands. You have the power to create it. You have the power to make the choices to look better, feel better, be better.

The question is: Will you choose to create the life you dream of?
