Couch to 5K – Week 4

I’ve officially started the Week 4 schedule of the Couch to 5k program and I have to say that I’ve impressed myself!

This morning, as I prepared to start my 5 minute warm-up walk, there was doubt nagging at the back of my head and I wondered if I could run 3 minutes, walk 90 seconds, then run 5 minutes and repeat. I just decided to take it as it came and you know what? I had zero problems!

I actually enjoyed running both the 3 minutes and the 5 minutes. If someone had told me 6 weeks ago that I would be running both 3 minute and 5 minute intervals back to back, I would have thought they were crazy. I can remember gasping for breath the first week and how hard it seemed to run just 90 seconds.

Now I’m running a solid 5 minutes and it feels great!

It may seem intimidating for me to look ahead to the coming weeks’ schedules and eventually running 30 minutes straight. However, looking back over what I’ve already accomplished, I feel confident I will be able to do it when the time comes.

I’m very happy I’m doing this!
