Couch to 5K and Weight Watchers

I meant to post on this earlier this week, but I am now running 20 minutes straight without stopping!

I set my timer for 8 minutes, but as I approached the 8 minute mark, I felt so good, I just hit reset on the 8 minutes and kept running. When it got to the end of the second 8 minutes, I still felt as though I could run, so I hit the reset again and jogged an additional 4 minutes before walking back home. That happened on July 4th and I was ecstatic!

July 4th was an especially great day for me because we went to the beach later that morning and spent the day, then watched fireworks over the Atlantic Ocean. It was gorgeous!

So, the Couch to 5K program is going great and I’m now running 20 minutes in the mornings. Eventually, I’m hoping to get up to 30 minutes of running, so I’m thinking by August that will be my “set” schedule.

Before starting this program, I could have never imagined running for 20 minutes. I highly recommend anyone who wants to try running for fitness, go this route.

As for Weight Watchers, I am doing the online WW program and I lost 2 pounds this week! This, despite the fact almost all of my meals on the Fourth were at restaurants (one fast food and the other a waterfront restaurant). My husband also sprang a surprise Friday night date night on me and we went out to a nice restaurant for dinner.

Today, my cousin is having a cookout, so I’m saving most of WW points today for that.
