10 Steps to Make Work Easy

10 Steps

Despite the office commercial that tells you to “hit the Easy button” there is no magic button to press or words to say that will magically make a situation or your job easy.

There are, however, steps you can take that will make your job easier and any situation not as stressful. As I have grown older, I realize that situation, unless they are life or death, are not as pressing as I thought when I was younger. Time takes care of things. If you are constantly late for work, set your alarm clock 15 minutes earlier and leave for work 15 minutes earlier than you usually do. You will find that by doing this, your drive to work or your appointment is not nearly as stressful because you are not rushed.

This has a domino effect in that you will arrive to work refreshed, instead of stressed. This is an easy method to start off your work day and one that I have found works wonders for my mental attitude. It also helps to listen to motivational tapes as you head into work each day.

Start your day with a positive, non-stressed way and the rest of your day will not seem as much.

That is a small way to start your day off right, here is a list of 10 others things you can do to make work easy:

1. Don’t take life so seriously! Despite what you have told yourself, you are not Atlas carrying the world around on your shoulders.

2. Decide to like your work. Once you do this, your work day will become a pleasure instead of drudgery. You may not need to change your job once you change your attitude toward it.

3. Make a plan and follow it. When you don’t have a system, you will find in many instances that you will get that “swamped” feeling.

4. Avoid trying to do everything at once. God has given us time for a reason. Do one thing at a time, then move onto the next.

5. As I mentioned in the beginning of this post, start off your day with a correct mindset. A right mental attitude can make anything better. The ease or difficulty in your work depends upon how you think about it. If you think it’s hard, it will be hard. Likewise, if you think it is easy, it will become easy.

6. Be efficient. Knowledge is power. The right way is easy way.

7. Relax (or as I say to my kids — Chillax). Don’t pull, push, tug or force. Take everything in stride.

8. Discipline yourself – This is where most of us fall short. This is the “always running late” mentality. It is caused by a lack of discipline. Do not put off tomorrow what you can do today. Accumulation of undone jobs will make you tense and make your work seem harder.

9. Pray – Pray about and over your work. Ask God to help you do a good job and be more efficient.

10. And in keeping along that same path, take on God as your “unseen partner.” God can help you through any situation or job. He knows more about your job than you do and his help will make your work easy.

I hope these 10 steps will make your job and life a little easier.

May you have a blessed day!

Great tips. Even though I am now a SAHM, it wasn’t always that way. I especially like 9 & 10. Thanks for sharing 🙂

  2. Arg. Number 4 is my big challenge 🙁 Working on this one every single day!
